John Harris Body Shops was founded in 1975 by John Harris, Jr. with a flagship store on Stadium Road in Columbia, SC. John’s two sons, John III and Campbell, grew up in the shop, working the shop floor and learning the business from the inside. John III and Campbell took over ownership after their father’s health declined in 2005.

Revolutionary Process for Quality and Efficiency

John III and Campbell were familiar with how body shops had always done things, but they knew that there was a more efficient way of running a shop that could improve production, ensure quality repair and guarantee customer satisfaction. Studying manufacturing models and utilizing their firsthand knowledge of the industry, they developed a revolutionary process that focuses on a start-to-finish single vehicle repair which makes the entire shop more efficient, from inventory to employee work footprint. The process emphasizes continuity and quality standard in every location, in every job. JHBS is the ONLY collision repair chain to be ISO 9001- 2015 Certified, signifying their commitment to continual process improvement and quality.

This process set a new standard in the industry and growth was imminent. Over the next few years, they expanded from their Columbia headquarters, opening new locations in the Augusta, Charleston and Greenville regions. The small body shop that made a name in customer service and quality has now grown to fourteen locations with two more opening in the beginning of 2021.

FAQs

The easiest and most convenient way to pay for your portion of the repairs to your vehicle is to endorse your insurance claim check and submit it to the shop. Of course, cash and checks are always welcome. Credit cards may also be used. We accept Visa, Master Card and Discover. For more information, please see our Payment Policy.

If your deductible is not waived, it will be your responsibility to pay us when you pick up your vehicle. If you aren’t sure about your deductible, you can call your agent and he can tell you whether your insurance company has waived your deductible or whether it will be your responsibility.

Claim numbers are issued by your insurance company at the time you report your accident. Just jot it down and bring it in with you when you come in to begin the repair process, we will do the rest.

You will be notified by phone when your vehicle is ready to be picked up. You can also check this website. You will see a message next to the last picture of your vehicle telling you that your vehicle is ready to be picked up. Feel free to call or e-mail your advisor during the repair process if you have questions or concerns.
